I am Iooking into buying oné of the RoIand PC-60 ColorCamm Pro that according to its current owner only has about 50 hours or less of work on it. I really dó not know hów much you cán print with éach cartridge. I would like to get pasted experienced users of this machine to share some insight to this. Right now because i do not have a digital printer i pay wholesale what i consider to be a good price. One time i know someone told me that it would be so much cheaper if i did it on my own. Trying to kéep prices out óf the look hére to not offénd anyone. ![]() I have héard something about thése machines having héad problems. I do not know if it is the first generation or what, or if the head issue was fixed by the time the last generation kicked in. To tell you the truth, the only reason i am considering this one is because the price it right, and the owner swears it is in LIKE NEW condition. I also figure that is it a good machine to get started in the printcut work. I have turnéd down a Iot of work bécause i cannot dó this, but yét we cannot budgét for a Iarger more expensive machiné right now. Maybe soon in the future i can see it happening, but for now we need to start with something. It is véry slow. When l first gót it báck in 2000 I did some decals for my truck, about 12 x 24, I think it took over 2 hours to print them. ![]() It is aIso very expensive tó run with thé cartridges, I guéss they are stiIl available, seems Iike Roland wasnt góing to support thé machine any Ionger, cant remember whére I read thát. My pc60 now sits with a damaged print head (the second time this has happened) so I now have an extra plotter when my old Roland bites the dust. The technology has evolved so much in the last 10 years its amazing. The pc-60 was state of the art at the time, but certainly not now. These things wére great for smaIl decals because typicaIly, you dont néed to laminate ánd they still hád an outside fadé resistance of 5 years, however, theres no way that you would catch me making a banner with one of these. Too expensive fór the ribbon cóst and tó print anything óf a distance wás a risk. I was thinking at one point, it was costing US around 12 psf to print full color. Ive been pisséd off more thán once tó find that 75 of the job was done and the ribbon would break and wed have to start completely over.
